Arlington Public Schools: A 60th Anniversary Tribute
Honoring the Past, Envisioning the Future
Join the Arlington community to hear the story of integration from the students who experienced it, including my brother, Michael G. Jones. The Arlington County Board Chair, Christian Dorsey will speak about “moving forward” after this recognition and where we go next as a community.
My Halls Hill Family: More Than a Neighborhood books will be for sale from 6-6:30p prior to the program and again from 7:30-8p and books can be personally signed.
Hope to see you there!
Join us for (free!) drinks, networking, and a conversation with author Wilma Jones. Her book, “My Halls Hill Family: More than a Neighborhood,” tells the story of a historically African-American community that dates back to 1850 when Bazil Hall purchased 327 acres of land for a plantation.
This event is open to anyone who is curious about affordable housing and the history of Arlington.
RSVPs are not required but will help us plan. Send an email with your name and those of any guests you plan to bring to ahstaff@allianceforhousingsolutions.org.
